Episode 001: Several Lukewarm Takes on The Odyssey
Hello, here we are with our very inaugural episode, and as will certainly be a recurring feature, we are about 45 minutes to three weeks behind the zeitgeist.
One of us has reread a translation of the Odyssey from the 1960s, one of us exclusively listened to other hotter takes from other podcasts, and both of us have probably seen the Wishbone adaptation. Then we both watched this movie in theatres TWICE.
Those are our qualifications.
This movie is good (ish) and relevant (arguably) and we are neither of those things.
Topics include: Nolan's relationship to women, humour, and montages, Negronis vs. Colt 45s, and Rat Men vs. Little Frog Mouth Boys.
Please note: Charles calls John Holland John Hiddleston all the time, and John calls Telemachus Thrasymachus over and over as well. We are but flawed meat creatures formed by the justly loathing hands of Circe and will continue to make such mistakes.
